Welcome to Lily Mental Health! College can be one of the most exciting times of life — and also one of the hardest. Between academics, relationships, identity shifts, and the pressure to “have it all figured out,” it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected. On the outside you may look like you’re managing, but inside you may be struggling with stress, burnout, or the feeling that you’re not yourself. I’ve worked with hundreds of college students who’ve faced challenges like anxiety, depression, ADHD, burnout, trauma, and major life transitions. Many have already tried counseling, medications, or coping strategies, but still feel stuck and want something more thoughtful, practical, and personalized. My name is Julie Bass, I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Provider (PMH-C). I have worked in mental health for over 10 years and offer a blend of medication management and integrative strategies that go beyond quick fixes. My practice is intentionally small so I can provide personalized care — not rushed diagnoses or one-size-fits-all treatment plans. I take the time to really understand your story, explore the root causes of your symptoms, and help you find sustainable ways forward. I especially enjoy working with college students navigating identity, independence, and transitions, as well as international students, who often carry the added stress of being far from home, balancing cultural expectations, and adapting to a new environment. I also know how busy student schedules can be, so I offer early morning, evening, and weekend appointments to make care more accessible. If you’ve ever thought: “I should be able to handle this, but I feel like I can’t.” “I’m doing everything right, but I still don’t feel better.” “No one seems to actually listen.” …know that you’re not alone. My practice is built on the belief that you deserve care that feels collaborative, respectful, and empowering — care that helps you understand yourself and create lasting change. This is a space where your voice matters. Let’s work together to help you feel grounded, confident, and connected again.

My practice focuses on helping people get to know themselves better and learn to cope with difficult thoughts and feelings that get in their way of moving forward with what they want. Helping clients clarify what they value and learn new behaviors that help them build a meaningful life is a main goal of my approach . I have over twenty years of experience and love working with college students who are feeling depressed, anxious, have trouble fitting in, managing stress and transitions. Cross-cultural issues, grief, and parenting are also areas of particular focus in my practice. I am a native Spanish-speaker and provide services in Spanish as well as English.

I am passionate about supporting individuals, children, and families who are ready to create healthier dynamics but aren’t sure where to start. I have worked with clients through various mental health concerns, such as trauma, grief, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, or identity exploration. I strive to create a safe, warm, and mutually respectful environment for my clients to engage in self-exploration and break painful cycles. Using attachment-based, culturally informed strategies based on your own unique strengths, we will work together to develop healthier communication patterns, feel deeply supported, and confidently move forward. I integrate Humanistic, Relational, and Psychodynamic perspectives to offer treatment that is deeply informed by your unique experiences. Specializing in family conflict, trauma, anxiety, and neurodiversity, I use attachment-based strategies to help you feel empowered. We will work collaboratively so you and your family feel truly heard. Beginning therapy is often a challenging process to go through, let alone begin, and it takes real courage. You don't have to carry stress, grief, or trauma alone. I am dedicated to building a safe, collaborative space where you feel genuinely empowered to achieve your self-identified goals. My approach to therapy is grounded in narrative therapy, with the belief that how you understand and relate to your problems shapes your ability to move forward. Whether it’s depression that leaves you feeling stuck, anxiety that chips away at your confidence, or shame that strains your relationships—we'll explore how these experiences impact your life. Many of these struggles are shaped by external pressures around success, identity, and expectations. In therapy, we’ll work together to uncover what feels authentic and meaningful to you. I offer a collaborative and transparent space for healing. While rooted in narrative therapy, I integrate CBT and DBT techniques to support your growth. My experience includes depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, life transitions, and relationship challenges. At the heart of my practice is a deep respect for your voice and values. My goal is for you to feel empowered and at the center of your healing process. If you’re feeling disconnected from yourself or your path, we can work together to help you find your way back.

I'm a psychologist with 20+ years helping college students with eating disorders and body image problems. I like to work collaboratively. I bring the expertise on how to help students recover from anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and emotional eating ( as well as the anxiety and depression that often accompany these issues) but students are the experts on their lives. Together, we form a partnership to help you move forward in both your eating disorder recovery and in building a life with more balance and joy! Psychotherapy can help individuals identify the cause of pain, gain insight, expand coping skills, and remove barriers that get in the way of meaningful relationships. Looking inward and exploring your thoughts and feelings can be a daunting and scary process. I hope I can join you in your journey towards healing and positive change. I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in working with college students, particularly with students with marginalized identities. I have 15+ years of experience working at college counseling centers as a clinician, supervisor, director of training, and director of diversity and inclusion. My approach to therapy is centered on social justice, developmental, and relational psychodynamic principals. This lens allows me to pay attention to the impact of early childhood and family experiences, social-cultural factors, relational patterns, systematic oppression, and self awareness when working with individuals. I believe that a truly healing therapeutic relationship explores and fosters all intersecting identities of a person.

I work at CampusCare Counseling. I am trauma-informed in my approach. This means I work with clients to build trust, taking into consideration personal and socio-cultural factors, with the goal of forming a therapeutic relationship that empowers clients and allows their authentic selves to be in the therapy space. I believe growth, as defined by the client, happens from there. When clinically indicated, I pull from my experience and training with trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and EMDR. Additionally, I use psychodynamic, existential, and feminist perspectives to inform my work.

My approach to psychotherapy is integrative and responsive to the needs of each individual person within the general contexts of multicultural sensitivity and a strong therapeutic relationship. Best summarized through Paul’s (1967) question: “What treatment, by whom, is most effective for this individual with that specific concern, and under which set of circumstances?" I have extensive experience working and training in University Counseling Centers (i.e., Penn State University Graduate Assistant, Pre-doctoral internship at Suffolk University, Post-doctoral Fellow at Tufts University followed by three years as a Staff Psychologist at Tufts). My clinical interests include college student mental health, in general; stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal concerns, drug and alcohol use/misuse/abuse; Men’s issues; Childhood trauma; Working with students on the Autism Spectrum; Identity concerns; Relationship concerns; Issues of diversity and inclusion.
