Being a college student—while also navigating identity, familial expectations, social anxiety, academic pressures, substance use, sex, sexuality, and questions about the future—can be a lot. I get it. With personal experience in many of these areas and professional experience supporting youth and young adults through trauma, mental health challenges, and life transitions, I know how overwhelming this stage can feel. My name is Eric Almond, LMSW, and I’ve worked with youth in community programs, outpatient clinics, and campus-based support spaces. I also know what it's like to return to school after some time away, and the challenges that inevitably follow. Whether you're new to school, returning, or continuing later in life, I aim to create a space that feels grounding, warm, and affirming—one where you don’t have to have it all figured out to be taken seriously. You're allowed to show up just as you are, and we’ll work from there. I offer a free fifteen minute virtual consultation to see if we're a good fit. If you feel stuck in the same patterns and lost on where to make a change, my approach is for you. Therapy can seem like an intimidating process to begin but I assure you it does not have to be that way. I offer therapy that is relational, relatable, realistic, and non judgmental. Our sessions will be about exploring where you want to be and how we can get you there, in a way that is collaborative, creative and resourceful. Together we can find ways to alleviate distress, build skills, and find tools that help outside our sessions in your day to day life. I strive to create a space that is empathetic, safe, and personal to you.

Psychologist

Hello, I'm Dr. Clifford (please feel free to call me Heather!). I bring a compassionate and a caring approach to therapy that is trauma informed and queer affirming. The transition to young adulthood can be a time of major changes, successes, and disappointments. The pressure of being a young adult and figuring out "the future" is often overwhelming and anxiety provoking. You may be questioning your values, sexuality, relationships and career aspirations. I specialize in helping college students explore the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are getting in the way of them living a life that is in line with their values. Through our work together I can help you clarify what is important to you and develop skills to help you live the life you choose. I use evidenced based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help support you become present and participate in the important parts of life. I often incorporate mindfulness and compassion focused exercises during sessions. I am committed to unlearning oppressive biases and beliefs including but not limited to white supremacy, racism, ableism, homophobia, and fatphobia. I believe that these systems of oppression hugely impact our mental health and come to play in the therapy room. I am always open to discuss and explore these topics.

I’ve always thought that the most beautiful and interesting trees in the forest are the ones that grow into unique forms, shaped by their environment but finding a way to adapt and thrive. Similarly, life’s challenges can shape us in profound ways, but they can also leave us feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck. I’m Rob Gooding, a second-year graduate student at St. Bonaventure University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am deeply passionate about helping individuals navigate these challenges and uncover their inner resilience to live fulfilling and authentic lives. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for growth and healing. To me, it’s a privilege to walk alongside clients as they share their stories and embark on their journey toward self-discovery and empowerment. My approach is grounded in person-centered principles, recognizing that you are the expert in your own life. I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, valued, and supported. By integrating evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Solution-Focused Therapy, I work with clients to reframe negative thought patterns, develop practical skills, and prioritize their needs. Together, we’ll build tools to navigate challenges with confidence and clarity. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, academic pressures, identity exploration, or life transitions, you don’t have to face it alone. I’m here to help you rediscover your strengths, adapt to life’s demands, and create meaningful change. Just like those unique trees in the forest, your story is one of resilience and growth – and it would be an honor to support you on your path. Robert Gooding is a therapist in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapists in-training accruing clinical hours

Hello, I have a general psychotherapy practice that is focused on helping people with topics that are relevant to college and graduate school students. The following are some of the issues that clients share with me. Managing the transition from living at home to being at school. Feeling successful in classes and in social life. Handling relationships such as with family and romantic partners. Preparing to leave school for a career. And, staying on top of mental well-being. Do any of these topics resonate with you? If so, great! If not and you want to see if I can be of help anyway, then feel free to reach out. Please contact me by phone or by email to set-up a moment when we can initially discuss your interest in therapy.

My ideal client may be struggling with a wide array of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, academic pressures, life transitions, or identity exploration. They may require support in developing effective coping strategies, enhancing their emotional regulation skills, and building a strong sense of self-worth. They may also need guidance in understanding their mental health, navigating interpersonal dynamics, or setting or achieving goals. The goals for my ideal client often revolve around self-discovery and personal growth. As a therapist-in-training with a background in social work and chemical dependency counseling, I specialize in helping college students navigate life's complexities. I understand that college can be a time of significant stress, change, and personal development, and I am here to support you as you face these challenges. I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially when you're already managing so much. Therapy is not about "fixing" you; it's about understanding you—your story, your strengths, your struggles, and your hopes. It's about creating a space where you can be your most authentic self without fear of judgment.
