With warmth, curiosity, and a touch of humor, I offer a supportive, judgment-free space where you can feel truly heard. As a former student-athlete at the University of Pennsylvania, I understand the weight of high expectations and draw on that experience to help clients build confidence, resilience, and inner calm. I love working with young adults in college and beyond navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship issues, and making career decisions. Anxiety has been very present over the past few years. I specialize in working with anxiety whether it is about the ever changing world we are all experiencing or a long term personal relationship with anxiety. My therapeutic approach is based on Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) for intervention and talk therapy with a psychodynamic orientation for understanding underlying root causes and insights. I explore the underlying dynamics of the past creating interference with today. I take a direct and genuine approach in therapy with compassion. I'm passionate about collaborative work in the therapy room as an agent of change. I work with individuals to illuminate the path towards self-awareness through exploring underlying yearnings and opportunities to consciously choose actions based on meaning and values. I generally provide practical interventions to use in your daily experiences to actively work towards your goals in between sessions as well. I work with a diverse population in a collaborative approach to promote mental health. Feel free to reach out to schedule an initial appt.

I am a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, currently practicing and licensed in New York and California. I have a virtual private practice. I am also an attending child and adolescent psychiatrist/Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University Grossman School of Medicine, Medical Director of the Mental Health Team at the Nicholas Scoppetta Children's Center, and the Medical Director of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Association for Children's Services. I completed my child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. I was born and raised in New York City, where I also completed my medical education at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and my adult psychiatry residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. I enjoy working with each individual to find out what the needs are. No family, child, adolescent, or adult are the same, and everyone exists within a system. It is important to see a person as a whole, including the family they come from, school, job, community, and much more, in order to treat properly. My approach, when treating a child or adolescent, is to consider the community they are in, come from an attachment-based lens, and meet the youth where they are. Involvement of the parents will be important, especially depending on the age of the youth. My approach, when treating an adult, is to meet that adult where they are, understand their unique situation and treat accordingly. Personally, and professionally, I am interested in attachment theory and mind-body connection. I have received training in mindfulness-based stress reduction, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, family therapy, parent management training, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. My main areas of focus: anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, ADHD, trauma, behavioral issues, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD), self-esteem, family, parenting, interpersonal dynamics, and school issues. However, each person is unique, so I am happy to speak to anyone and see if we are a good fit.
Therapy is not about “fixing” you, it’s about understanding you. You are not broken-you are human. Being human means experiencing various complex feelings that can be difficult to navigate and understand, especially on your own. No matter what life throws you, you do not have to go through it alone. As a therapist, I aim to create a space where you feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely heard in a judgement free environment. Together, we can collaborate to help you reach a place of self-improvement and understanding through recognizing behavior patterns, processing complex emotions, and exploring solutions to any challenges you may be facing. When working with me, you can expect a relationship rooted in trust, empathy, and openness. Whether you need a space to process, vent, reflect, or simply breathe-I will meet you where you are at. I will show up for you authentically, even if it means gently challenging you and confronting obstacles head on. There is no rush when it comes to your progress. Think of me in the passenger seat and you are the driver-you are the expert of your life and your voice matters most. Nearly ten years ago, I began my personal journey with therapy during a time of major life transitions. What stayed with me was the feeling of unconditional support and understanding I received. For the first time, I felt truly seen and encouraged to be vulnerable. This experience sparked a sense of strength and empowerment in me that I strive to help my clients discover within themselves.
