I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania (and all 40+ PSYPACT participating states). The current list of PSYPACT participating states can be found here: https://psypact.site-ym.com/page/psypactmap I obtained my doctoral degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where I received intensive training in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy. While the foundation of my work is in the structure and skill-building of CBT, I individually tailor the structure of therapy to your needs and the challenges of your daily life. I work with adults and teenagers with mood and anxiety disorders, relationship challenges, and eating disorders. I specialize in therapy for eating disorders and balance CBT for eating disorders with practices of intuitive eating and Health at Every Size (HAES). If you have a difficult relationship with food or exercise, you are not alone in this journey. My goal as a therapist is to provide you with both support and skills. It is not easy to make changes to the way you cope or how you show up in relationships! If you want to understand where or why you are getting stuck, please reach out for support, and know that recovery is always possible!

Welcome, I'm glad you're here. Life can be challenging and you shouldn't have to go it alone. For 25 years I have worked with young adults who are struggling or are going through a particularly difficult period of time. Some of those issues may include anxiety, self-harm, depression, trauma, identity issues, family conflict. Together, we will identify your goals and develop a supportive plan for the relief you are seeking so that you can become the best version of yourself. I look forward to hearing from you.
As an art therapist, I offer a space where creativity becomes a path to healing, self-understanding, and empowerment. I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ individuals, those healing from trauma, and folks who identify as neurodivergent. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, or life transitions, you're welcome here—exactly as you are. My approach is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and rooted in the belief that self-expression can be a powerful tool for insight and growth. You don’t need to consider yourself an artist to benefit from art therapy. Together, we use creative processes—drawing, painting, or exploring imagery—as a way to access what words alone may not fully capture. I know that therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. I aim to co-create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported in moving at your own pace. My hope is that this work helps you reconnect with your inner voice and build emotional resilience. If you’re looking for a therapist who brings warmth and creativity, I’d be honored to walk with you on your journey.

Life is difficult; making sense of challenges and choices can be complicated. Times of stress can tax every relationship, even the relationship with our self. As a Professional Counselor my goal is to create a relationship in which you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and emotions, assisting in discovering new opportunities for growth and change. In therapy we will cultivate, explore, and direct that change, working together to promote more authentic and satisfying ways of living. We will build a treatment plan and relationship that uniquely suits you, joining in understanding your past, paying attention to your embodied way of living, and creating new ways of being, socializing, and thinking. We all deserve happiness and understanding. Let’s clear the path to these together.

I love being a counselor and deeply enjoy the collaborative process of psychotherapy. I bring personal warmth, respectful curiosity, and genuine care for you as a person into our work together. My enthusiasm is blended with a naturally gentle demeanor, respect for you and your experiences, and commitment to principles of social justice. Whether you’re reaching out for personal enrichment, general emotional support, or specific mental health concerns, I can be a helpful collaborator for a variety of purposes. I provide individual therapy that is grounded in social consciousness and focused on your needs. It is a common and welcome scenario to be uncertain about our direction at the outset. We’ll figure it out together by understanding your interests and concerns, as well as the interpersonal, cultural, and sociopolitical dynamics interacting with them. The focus of our work can encompass anxiety, depression, LGBTGEQIAP+ affirming therapy, transitions and life changes, self-concept/ compassion, collaborative assessment and diagnosis, grief and bereavement, interpersonal skills, stressor-related issues, and other concerns. While I’m eager to work with adults of any age, I’m especially experienced with helping young adults navigate heavy existential questions, identity development, political distress, and career and academic exploration. Prior to counseling, I was a student affairs professional at several different universities, and consider that background important to many aspects of my identity as a counselor. The purpose of our work will unfold through a meaningful therapeutic relationship, prioritizing your self-expertise and personal strengths in conjunction with my theoretical approach. Although each person’s therapeutic process is unique, our work can involve developing insight from emotional experience, re-contextualizing suffering through political and socio-economic critique, interpreting thematic patterns for new ways of relating to self and others, constructing meaning to restore or enhance agency, and building relational empowerment for social change. I grew up in Pennsylvania and recently returned after three years in Houston, TX and another ten years living in three other states. In addition to counseling, I enjoy running, learning, travelling, coffee, reading, movies, and ice cream. Most especially, I cherish quality time with my spouse, family, and multiple pets.
After years in practice I can tell you one thing for certain, everyone has speed bumps in life. Sometimes the issues get bigger when we don’t deal with them. And sometimes we just need help processing so it will stop being on repeat in our mind. It doesn’t have to be so hard. Let’s find the best path forward for you so you can be your best self.
My name is Sarah and I am a therapist, coach and community organizer. I specialize in working with activists, organizers and politically left gen individuals who struggle with burnout, overwhelm and balance. You may be struggling with self-doubt, fear about the future and compassion fatigue. I can help with that. I work with individuals who are navigating trauma associated with living under capitalism. During our first few sessions together, we will begin to bridge the gap between your pain and systematic structures that impact you deeply. You'll begin to experience yourself as part of a whole community, not just an individual. Therapy with me will be political, restorative, healing and empowering.
Hi, I’m Kendal McDowell and I've been working in the field since 2019. I'm licensed in both CA and PA and I work specifically with college students and college athletes. Having been a college athlete myself, I'm familiar with the joys and stressors of collegiate life. College can be an exciting and eye opening experience, but sometimes it can also open our eyes to some things within ourselves or those around us we may not have noticed before. Together we’ll work to pin point what’s really going on. We’ll look deeper into areas that range from: relationships, anxiety, and depression. I’m here to help discover what’s causing symptoms or distress, and what we can do about it. We’ll spend time getting to know who you are and what could be missing, to bring more joy and happiness to life. Not sure yet? Reach out to set up a free 15-minute consult- no need to commit to a scheduled appointment right away! The Courtyard Counseling Center, LLC provides psychological services to clients in the Central Pennsylvania area and virtually in the state of Pennsylvania. I spent 24 years studying and working in universities as a student (undergrad and grad), program coordinator (staff), assistant professor (faculty), and state specialist (extension). I worked hard to earn my degrees and make my mark in academia, but I was often looking for guidance and support from my peers about my career. Sometimes finding a listening ear who truly understood me, my strengths, and my goals was challenging. This sparked ideas for a career change, and back to school I went for 5 years part-time while working as a professor, being a spouse, raising two young kids, and still fitting-in some outside pursuits. I became a counselor, and I founded AutumnSpring Counseling, to help students, faculty, staff, and others connected to universities navigate through and cope with the challenges of academic study and work. I am dual certified in mental health (NCC) and career counseling (CCC), and I strive to help clients develop strategies for their present and their future career situations. Through counseling, assessment and evaluation tools, and career strategizing, I help clients process the challenges, decisions, and transitions related to their career and their personal wellness. My website offers a lot of good details about me and the clientele I help the best, so please visit www.autumnspring.co. Once you read there, if I interest you, please email or call me and let's set up a time for a free 25-minute consultation call.

Guessing your way through life is stressful. I work with college students who are realizing that there's a lot of things that they weren't taught in school and are ready to take control of their future. Now that you have more freedom and choice, you also have to figure out what to do with it. Who are you? Who do you want to be? What do you want to do with your life? How do you get there? If you're starting out college, you might be trying to get yourself into a routine, make new friends, navigate the campus dating scene, decide on a major, or handle the stress of midterms/finals. Maybe you're past that part of your college experience, but you still haven't found a good solution to those problems: still putting off studying, dealing with friend drama, having ups and downs with dating, etc. And if you're getting towards the end of your college experience, you might be worried out about what you're going to do after college and what that will look like. You don't need to figure all that out on your own. I help people get to the root of their problems so that they can understand themselves and others better. If you can understand your past and unlearn things that aren't helping you anymore, then you can replace them with healthy ways to move forward with confidence.
I have been in practice for over 25 years, helping young adults navigate the challenging and exciting college years. I help young adults with anxiety, body image, stress management, peer conflicts, depression and academic success. I identify unhelpful thinking patterns, teach effective ways to regulate difficult emotions, and encourage healthy behaviors.

I support men navigating concerns such as low mood, stress, anxiety, significant life transitions, and establishing work-life balance. I also specialize in sex therapy, and help clients with exploring identity, dating challenges, sexual difficulties, and relationship dynamics. I provide a safe, supportive, and confidential space for clients to discuss what’s most important to them. In addition to processing and unpacking relevant issues that clients might be facing, I also assist them in developing a toolbox of coping strategies to help them build the life they want to be living. I am an LCSW and graduate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. I have years of experience working as a therapist in various settings, facilitating individual and group therapy. My style is warm and collaborative, with an approach rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness, with a strong emphasis on developing and enhancing coping strategies.
