Therapy can be like having personal training at a Gym. Just as a personal trainer shows you how to use the various machines and discusses nutrition, a counselor shows you the different ways to get your most important organ (brain) into shape. This is also where a professional, such as myself, can guide you to acquire clarity. As a licensed counselor, I consider it a privilege to help people resolve life issues. I am licensed in New York, New Jersey and South Dakota. For the last 11 years I have been working in outpatient settings helping, people through life's toughest issues. Hi, I'm Dr. Franks! When I see students, I conduct an initial session where I provide a diagnosis (if present) and can recommend and provide medications and/or therapy for treatment. I enjoy working with students because their task to start living on their own and develop their own identity is uniquely challenging and exciting. I can help with the diagnosis and treatment of things like depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, psychosis, etc. Symptoms that my patients commonly struggle with include worry, sadness, suicidal thinking, stress, insomnia, and trouble concentrating. I am passionate about working with motivated students to help them thrive during their time in college. I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Denver, earning degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and French. I completed my medical and residency training at the University of Colorado, where I had the privilege of serving as Chief Resident. I have since worked in private practice. I look forward to working with you!

I help clients to develop insight around why they may do this and address the root cause of the problem for healing that lasts. It is my honor and privilege to join you on this journey.
