I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in NY, and an LCPC in Maryland. I have a masters in clinical counseling from Johns Hopkins University and have been practicing psychotherapy for 10 years in my work with teens, adults and families. I currently provide services via telehealth (interactive video counseling). I support my clients through times of difficult transitions, grief and loss, and on the journey of healing from traumatic experiences. I support clients in answering the questions of 'Who Am I?', and 'Where Am I Going?'. I support my clients to better understand themselves and their relationships with others and to create more meaningful and fulfilling relationships. I support people to explore and understand their various identities, including gender/sexuality, racial/cultural identity, strengths, abilities and interests. I walk with you on your journey to help you get where you want to go. In our work together, you can expect a relationship built on non-judgmental listening and empowerment for you as the expert in your own life. We will journey together as you may be seeking greater authenticity and satisfaction with your life, or finding your life’s purpose. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support your journey.

We will cultivate compassion & presence, and tune in to your needs and desires to support your overall wellness. We will consider impact of oppressed identities, larger systemic dynamics and how they interact with your experience of yourself in the world. I believe in your capacity to heal.

I help children, teens, and young adults to feel empowered and create balance in their everyday lives. Struggling with trauma, transitions, or overwhelming emotions can feel depleting. A combination of art psychotherapy incorporating various treatment approaches may offer you the tools needed to tackle the obstacles you are facing in your life. I view the dynamics of our therapeutic relationship as if we were driving in a car together. You are ultimately the driver- hitting the brakes, pressing on the gas, changing direction of the steering wheel, and most importantly in control of the car. As a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, I take pride in tailoring my approach to each client’s unique needs. Alongside utilizing art psychotherapy, I integrate modalities such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, somatic therapy, and mindfulness-based practices.

Hi! I'm a Psychologist licensed in both New York and California, and I love working with college students! Please call to arrange an appointment in-office, or via computer (secure, live-stream video conferencing platform).
Our team of therapists pull from a myriad of evidence based treatment modalities to meet the individual needs of our clients. Some of the most well known and effective therapy modalities we offer are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). One of the goals of CBT is to replace negative thoughts and actions with productive behaviors that make the individual feel equipped to overcome any difficult moment. DBT emphasizes individual psychotherapy and group skills training classes to help people learn and use new skills and strategies to develop a life worth living. DBT skills include, skills for mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. We work with our clients to help them recognize how their thinking influences their emotions and behaviors and to establish personalized effective coping mechanisms. Doing so will ultimately help you identify and effectively manage thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in real-world situations.
Sometimes you wonder: When did life become so tough? Many things can knock us off balance. Betrayal from friends. Abuse by a trusted one, and the numbing shock of PTSD. Grief and loss. Trauma doesn’t look the same for every person. The common lie my clients tell themselves is, “It’s not that bad, other people have it worse.” You’re not other people, and if your life is being impacted by heavy emotions you’re carrying, you’re allowed to get help. Everything that happens to you, matters. I help people break through the overwhelm. I'm a board-certified psychotherapist specializing in trauma and PTSD, including trauma from abuse, rape, sexual assault and relationship violence. My collaborative approach focuses on your strengths, creating a safe environment that fosters growth. It’s important for someone to be in your corner - not to judge you, or tell you what to do, but to truly listen to you and guide you as you heal.
CONNECTIONS BEYOND LOCATION! Our practice is a full time telehealth practice providing our clients with relatable and experienced clinicians who can meet with you in your space and work at your pace. PVD Psychological Associates (PVD Psych) is a private psychology practice on the East Side of Providence, Rhode Island. Our mission is to provide the greater Rhode Island area with exceptional therapy, offering cutting edge and research-supported treatment by a team of highly trained therapists. We offer therapy for adults, college students, and adolescents struggling with anxiety, school/career concerns, eating disorders, infertility and women's health issues, and relationship difficulties. PVD Psych is a LGBTQIA-affirmative practice, and is one of few Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island LGBTQ Safe Zone certified providers. We strongly believe that everyone has the right to respectful and affirming, high quality care. My areas of specialization and interest include: women's issues, depression, anxiety, stress management, and working with LGBTQIA-identified individuals and family members. I practice primarily from a relational-dynamic perspective, though I also incorporate techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and narrative approaches to address and tailor treatment to the unique and individual needs of each client. In my work as a therapist, I focus on understanding early experiences and how psychological well-being can be fostered through relationships. I believe change and healing come through relationships: our relationships with ourselves, as well as our relationships with others. I view therapy as a collaborative process that allows both therapist and client to grow and change. My clients describe me as an empathetic, active listener who approaches their concerns with caring, respect, pragmatism, and sometimes, humor. I'm honored that you're considering working with me and I would be happy to answer any questions that you may have. Please feel free to contact me.
