Life can be stressful, chaotic and overwhelming. Transitions such as starting college, graduating college, a new job, separation or divorce, a significant loss, or becoming a new parent can add to our already complicated and stressful lives. Acknowledging that you need help and taking the step of finding a therapist is not easy. It takes both strength and courage. My goal is to help my clients on their personal journey. I believe in the power of relationships. I believe the power of the therapeutic relationship is what can ignite understanding, accepting, healing, changing and growing. My approach is a solution focused, strength-based perspective. I pull from a variety of therapeutic techniques to best address the individual needs of my clients. Specialty/areas of interest: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, bereavement, infertility and grief counseling, and general life transitions- specifically young adults exploring their adult identify and new parents adjusting to the transition of parenthood. I offer secure, confidential telehealth therapy. You participate where it is most comfortable and convenient for you. ***I also offer short term summer counseling for college students’ home for summer break. I am a college therapist during the academic school year and I am aware of the challenge summer breaks can be for students who are temporarily home and away from their primary therapist at college. I offer short term therapy to bridge the gap in care.

There are a lot of really good reasons to start therapy. For some this may be be uncovering the authentic self, finding a felt sense of safety, and the confidence to build meaningful and lasting relationships. In my fifteen years of practice I have developed an approach that is intuitive and individualized, blending emotional insight, mind body awareness, and an understanding of your lived experience. I work holistically, identifying the emotional, physical, and situational pieces that shape your inner world. I work with individuals wanting to discover ways to move more authentically and confidently through this moment in their life. Whether that is adjusting to a major life changes, break ups, or dealing with emotional challenges. I provide additional specialized care for those recovering from religious trauma, purity culture, and spiritual abuse. I understand that getting into therapy can be a challenge in its own right. I am happy to walk you through logistical concerns and insurance verifications. All sessions are done through telehealth. I am a short-term therapist who works specifically with clients with chronic health conditions. Over the course of 20 sessions, we learn all about what is happening in your body and brain, learn and practice coping skills to manage anxiety related to your chronic medical condition, and have the option to complete hypnotherapy for chronic illness as well. If you are struggling with mental health related to a chronic health condition, and especially if you are experiencing high amounts of anxiety and low quality of life related to health symptoms, you will be a great fit for what I provide. If you have never done therapy before, or if you have found that your current therapist doesn’t quite “get it,” and you’re hoping to work with someone that has an intimate knowledge of chronic illness and hospital systems, then you will be a great fit. I also work alongside your full-time therapist if you have a therapist you love and would like to stay with while we complete our work together. I am also a good fit for someone who is specifically seeking out an LGBTQ therapist. I only offer virtual therapy at this time.

For nearly 15 years, I worked as a high school teacher, advisor, dean, and administrator. Working with adolescents was fun, rewarding, and dynamic. As a social worker, I have worked in college settings, residential substance use treatment, and a community mental health clinic. I have significant clinical experience supporting clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use, and specialize in working with adolescents, college students and emerging adults. I bring a particular appreciation for the stage of life between childhood and full adulthood, an understanding of the pressures of this age range, and a wealth of experience helping people navigate the challenges of growing up. I feel comfortable working with people of all identities and backgrounds. I specialize in supporting adolescents and young adults, Jewish and other faith communities, and older adults. I strive to be culturally competent and curious as I learn about another person. I believe everyone needs to be heard and helped regardless of religion, creed, or political beliefs.
